The first few weeks of university are filled with lots of exciting and new opportunities. Mentors are helpful in navigating all the new information.
Connecting with a Peer Mentor means you will have someone to answer all your questions, someone to help connect with campus resources, help you learn more about your program, and how to get involved on campus. FYC Peer Mentors are trained in providing great resources and support for first-year students and help you achieve a great start here at Carleton.
How does it work?
You will be paired with an upper year student who is in a similar academic program as yourself and has the skills needed to help you along your way as you get adjust to your new community. You will meet with your Peer Mentor weekly from the first week of September until the October Reading week. Please note that we offer specialized partner streams to ensure students feel as supported as possible in their transition to university.
How can I register?
Registration is free for incoming, first-year undergraduate students.
The First Year Connections program will be operating in-person for Fall 2024 with some virtual components through Microsoft Teams.
