Anti-Black Racism, Gender and Class: Through the Arts – Thursday April 4th, 2024
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Department of English Language and Literature, Institute of African Studies, and Feminist Institute of Transformation Studies in partnership with the Ottawa Catholic School Board invite you to this year’s presentation of Anti-Black Racism, Gender, and Class: Through the Arts. This presentation is the result of the hard work of third year Carleton undergraduate students who had the unique opportunity to work alongside OCSB high school students to create an artistic social justice project that addresses social oppression. Four or five student written forum theatre pieces will be performed. Audience members will participate as “spect-actors” who have the chance to intervene in the scenes and advocate for better social outcomes.
