The transition to university can be challenging, thankfully, Carleton University has a wide range of resources available to students all of which are categorized into five key pillars. Join us as we dive into these pillars of student success and learn about some of the resources you’ll likely visit during your time at Carleton.

Are you a student moving into residence in September? Join us as we walk through what life in Carleton University’s residences looks like. In this presentation, we will walk through key features of residence life at Carleton and share some helpful tips and suggestions as you begin to pack for this life-changing experience!

Living as an off-campus student can pose some anticipated and unanticipated challenges. How can you combat these challenges and thrive as an off-campus Raven? All of these questions and more will be answered in this presentation as you learn more about the impact getting involved can have on your university journey.

Target Audience – Off-Campus Students and Parents/Guardians/Supporters

The transition to university can undoubtedly be challenging for students, but it can also be difficult for parents, guardians and families. This presentation will highlight the important role parents and guardians play when supporting their students as they transition to post-secondary education. Additionally, we will identify key resources and supports parents and guardians can access throughout their students’ time as a Carleton Raven.

Target Audience – Parents/Guardians/Supporters

Hear from student leaders as they share tips, tricks and suggestions that allowed them to thrive as a Raven. This session will conclude with a question period from the audience, come prepared with any questions you are hoping can be answered.

Join our Summer Orientation Leaders as they take you on a tour across campus, highlighting key offices, buildings and resources you will likely stop by throughout your time at Carleton.

Note – Students and supporters will participate in separate, tailored tours and reconnect at lunch. 

A visit to Carleton would not be complete without a good meal. At Summer Orientation lunch will be provided in the caf. Students and guests will have a chance to mingle with one another along with student leaders. *Note – the caf will be closed on August 23rd and 24th and lunch will be replaced with a catered meal*

Wrap up the day by participating in various specialized programming. Programming includes – Athletics tour, Residence Tour, Registration Assistance and Faculty Tours for students in the Faculty of Engineering and Design, Science and Sprott School of Business.
