Departmental Academic Advising

Do you have questions about your B. CoMS degree path? See Melanie Leblanc, departmental advisor, to discuss specific concerns about your B. CoMS degree—including major/minor, academic difficulties, exchange opportunities, and graduation requirements. Connect via email or make an appointment.

By email. Please use your Carleton account. Normal response time is 2-3 business days, and longer during peak times such as registration.

By appointment. Departmental advising appointments are individualized, half hour consultations. During registration periods, due to high volumes of inquires ONLY STUDENTS WHO HAVE BOOKED APPOINTMENTS can be seen in person.

General Academic Advising

Students with questions that are not specific to the B. CoMS program should see a general advisor in the Academic Advising office.

If you are experiencing academic difficulties, a general advisor can assist you to put together a plan to get back on track. They can also help if you have questions about reading your audit, choosing degree elements, and understanding academic regulations or the Academic Performance Evaluation.

Take courses at another institution in Canada If applying to a Letter of Permission, the Registrar’s Office will oversee your application. Your Departmental Advisor can assist once the credits appear on your audit.
