Join Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) at its symposium on Oct. 29 for the chance to discover dynamic teaching and learning activities taking place at Carleton across all disciplines and to hear an engaging address from a Canadian icon.

Some of the finest educators from across the university will present a total of 24 sessions that focus on the theme High Impact Practices: Learner Centered Teaching and Engaged Pedagogy. Discover how students, instructors and TAs are facilitating meaningful learning through a variety of endeavours, including:

  • ePortfolios
  • Peer assessment
  • Flipped classrooms
  • Free and open online courses
  • Teaching in active learning spaces

In addition to the concurrent sessions, the symposium will feature a keynote address by Dr. Roberta Bondar, Canada’s first female astronaut and a highly accomplished researcher and educator. Her presentation, entitled Plastic Passion – The Brain Knoweth What the Heart Seeks, will kick off the event. Take a look at our tentative agenda for more details.
