Just in time for the Fall 2016 term, the EDC has launched a new, fully online workshop entitled “An Introduction to cuLearn.”
While every TA assignment is unique, most TAs at Carleton University are required to have some interaction with cuLearn, whether in the form of emailing students, sending out announcements, overseeing student discussions, adding content, grading online submissions, and so on. This online workshop is designed to help familiarize you with a number of features on cuLearn with which TAs commonly have some interaction. The lesson consists of three modules, each with its own lesson, quiz, and, sometimes, a related task. TAs who complete this session will earn 1.5 hours credit towards their paid Pedagogical Training hours. Note, however, that this session in not eligible for EDC credit for the “Certificate in Teaching Assistant Skills” since it doesn’t directly address transferable pedagogical skills.
To register, click on this link, login to cuLearn using your usual username and password, and then when prompted for the enrolment password, enter “cuLearn”.
