Teaching and learning are at the core of Carleton University’s mission. However, recent global events, including the COVID-19 pandemic, have revealed and even accelerated inequities and challenges in the university’s teaching and learning environment.
As a response, a working group was convened to envision the future of teaching and learning at Carleton in a way that builds on existing momentum and guides new ideas. We are pleased to announce that the working group’s recommendations and final report are now available.
The report “Transforming University Education” proposes a set of directions to guide the future of teaching and learning at Carleton. These directions build on Carleton’s Strategic Integrated Plan and emphasize that the future of teaching and learning at Carleton should be: empowering, collaborative, flexible and sustainable.
In launching this report, we thank all the members of the Carleton community whose comments, feedback and ideas helped shape this document.
We hope these directions will engage all of us as we embrace change and move forward with enacting the future of teaching and learning at Carleton.
