Game-Based Learning Community of Practice
September 26, 2024 at 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Location: | 481 Future Learning Lab (4th floor), MacOdrum Library |
Cost: | Free |
Have you used games or game elements to encourage engagement, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, or collaboration? Or are you game-curious, interested in how playful learning activities (card, video, immersive role playing, and/or board games) can be used as opportunities for transformative learning for your students?
Join teaching colleagues from across disciplines and the library to share experiences and strategies as well as reflect on the use of game-based approaches to learning. Use this informal and collegial Community of Practice to learn, solve problems, create community and build networks. Join our inaugural meeting Thursday September 26th to meet the Carleton game studies community and to discuss, ““How do you use games?” in your classroom or in your research. Graduate students are encouraged to attend.
If you are unable to attend this meeting, but are interested in being a part of future discussions/ added to an email list, please send an email to marc.saurette@carleton.ca and DaphneUras@cunet.carleton.ca.
