Opioids, Stigma and the Brain

Once again… Kim Hellmans, chair of Neuroscience, came to our team with an idea to create a video focusing on the stigma around opioids and the effects it has on the human brain. Our team worked in collaboration with CAPSA to develop a script and visual treatments to follow the story of a person struggling with addiction.

2020 Service Excellence Video

How do you honour the incredible work of our Service Excellence nominees over Zoom? This years’ Service Excellence video definitely had its set of unique challenges, however, it posed a great opportunity to get creative and reach more nominees than ever through the virtual landscape we were dealing with. Enriched Support Program Video

We were approached by the Enriched Support Program to create a video that highlighted the experience of a few individuals that exemplifies the broad impact that ESP and IESP can have. Three strong student testimonials are featured, showing that ESP can give students an opportunities to take on challenges that they thought wouldn’t necessarily be possible for them.

How Trauma Impacts the Brain: Reducing Stigma Around Addiction and Substance Use

Effets des traumatismes sur le cerveau et stigmatisation des dépendances et de l’usage de substances

Kim Hellemans, chair of Neuroscience, came to us with a script exploring the stigma surrounding addiction and the impact of childhood trauma on the brain. Visual treatments were developed in a collaborative effort with Prof. Hellemans and two student scriptwriters. Through this animation, we are able to view someone’s story through a very unique lens.

Experiential Learning Group: EU-Canada Joint Ministerial Committee Simulation

ELG (Experiential Learning Group) was looking for another video to add to their series of content, showcasing the power of learning by doing. Enter Professor Mukhtar’s EU conference simulation. His Government and Politics European Integration class created a panel simulation where they debated on real topics, supervised by actual ambassadors. We created this video highlighting the event and the students.

Rodney The Raven Takes An Exam

Carleton University Testing Centre (CUTC) is a comprehensive exam proctoring service in Ottawa. Whether you need to complete an online or written exam, the CUTC has your needs covered. The CUTC asked us to make a fun “how-to vid” for students who are taking their exams for the first time in the centre. Who better to help but our local school mascot and test taking enthusiast Rodney the Raven! Follow Rodney as he learns the do’s and don’ts of taking an exam at the CUTC!

2018 MPPA Capstone

The School of Public Policy and Administration wanted to highlight their end of year project with a video to showcase their graduate students in the thick of it. Capstone is designed to give students a real-life issue (in this case the opioid epidemic) to test how they work together and come up with new solutions. We highlighted the students’ intense four-day sprint as they coordinated, planned and presented their ideas to the likes of former Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty!
