Audrey Girouard
Since 2011, assistant professor Audrey Girouard has enhanced the interactive multimedia and design program at Carleton University by infusing the curriculum with her penchant for innovative approaches to learning.
She brings in different medias, including engaging online polls, real-world projects and informative in-class discussions on workplace experience, to improve the curriculum and better help her students learn complex ideas smoothly and dynamically.
Through her Industrial Partnerships course, Audrey demonstrated the importance of collaboration alongside the Canada Science and Technology Museum. This venture saw the production of mobile applications on behalf of students who developed creative systems addressing concrete issues.
For all her efforts, Audrey was awarded with a 2014 New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award, given to those who strive for teaching excellence and innovation, two of Carleton’s main tenets of academic distinction.
