Janna Fox
Janna Fox is the Director of the Language Assessment and Teaching Research Unit and a linguistics professor at Carleton University. She dedicates her academic research work to improving university education with innovative approaches to diagnostic assessment and curriculum development.
Janna was awarded the prestigious 3M National Teaching Fellowship in 2003 for educational leadership related to her work in curriculum design on both a campus and national level. She prioritized innovative student-centered teaching and transformative approaches to testing and assessment.
Beyond her contributions within Carleton, Janna is also a founding member of the Canadian Association of Language Assessment and the principal developer of a number of high-stakes language tests including the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment.
Her extensive resume of published research, journal and editorial articles, presentations, research grants and supervised graduates are an indication to Janna’s dedication to teaching and improving education.
