Véronic Bezaire
Véronic Bézaire has been working in the chemistry department at Carleton since 2010 as an instructor in the food science and nutrition program. Because she joined the program in its early days, Véronic was tasked with developing several new courses, and she did so in innovative ways. She organized fieldtrips for her students, introduced group work into a department that traditionally doesn’t do group work, organized debates, and had students develop their own final exam questions.
In a relatively short amount of time, she has had a profound impact on campus, whether by inspiring her students or through her many contributions to the scholarship of teaching and learning. In 2023, Véronic received the OCUFA Awards of Distinction in recognition of her innovation and dedication to teaching and the higher education community. In 2017, her efforts were rewarded with a Provost’s Fellowship in Teaching Award for sustained excellence in teaching.
