The minimum computing requirements and configuration recommended for engineering students are:
Intel i5 or AMD A10 processor; 8GB of RAM; and 256 GB SSD hard drive.
Please note: students registered in programs offered by the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Biomedical and Mechanical, and Sustainable and Renewable Energy – Stream B) will require a dedicated graphics card with at least 2 GB of dedicated memory, such as the NVIDIA GTX 1050 or MX450 or higher, to support graphics-intensive design software used in upper-year courses.
Aerospace and Mechanical students will use some software that will only run on Windows, e.g., Ansys, Catia.
It is recommended to upgrade to 16GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD or NVMe drive.
