Reflections

“More than anyone else I know, Craig reflects the values of our institution while undertaking his teaching, research and administrative work – values such as excellence, interdisciplinarity, collaboration, accessibility, and accountability – and he builds on Carleton’s existing strengths to make a positive difference for people at Carleton and in the broader community. I believe that Craig’s focus on partnership building in his teaching, research and administrative service is most in-line with Carleton’s current vision and captures the most important contributions that Craig has made to the University.”

– Joanna Pozzulo, Professor and Chair,Department of Psychology (nominator)

“Craig Bennell has proven himself to be an exceptional partnership builder, and his efforts go well beyond his own interests to creating a more collaborative and productive partnership environment for Carleton researchers as a whole.”

– Kim Matheson, Professor, Department of Health Sciences (supporter)

“We have known Dr. Bennell for many years through the Society for Police & Criminal Psychology (SPCP). We can attest to the high level of service that Dr. Bennell has provided to SPCP over the years. As a member of the Executive Board of SPCP, we were on the committee that selected him to edit our journal. That selection was based on his strong record of scholarship, his attention to academic rigor, and his demonstrated hard work, sound judgment, and reliability. Our journal thrived under his 5-year term as journal editor.”

JoAnne Brewster and Michael Stoloff Secretary and Membership Chair, and Webmaster and Member of the Board (respectively) Society for Police and Criminal Psychology, James Madison University (supporters)

“Collaborative research with Dr. Bennell, Carleton University and the Police Research Lab has enhanced the RCMP’s research capacity and ability to have a strong evidence-base for decision making. We are exceptionally pleased with the high quality of research being produced through Carleton University. With the demonstrated benefits of this academic partnership and Dr. Bennell’s assistance in the development of a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding between Carleton University and the RCMP, Dr. Bennell has established a strong foundation for formalized collaborative work with Carleton University in the future.”
