On January 16, 2025, the School of Social Work commemorated its 75th anniversary, alongside the Centre for Studies on Poverty and Social Citizenship marking its 50th anniversary. To celebrate, we co-hosted three important events: a webinar discussing Carleton University’s partnership with the University of Hargeisa to develop their social work program, a lunch featuring a keynote address by Natalie Appleyard of Citizens for Public Justice, and an emerging scholars panel featuring three PhD students in the School.
