The Office of the Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) is pleased to announce the start of the Future Skills Innovation Network (FUSION) project at Carleton this fall to help students further develop academic and professional skills.
FUSION is a cross-collaborative network of Canadian universities focused on exploring inclusive and innovative work-integrated learning approaches to foster skill development and prepare university students for a rapidly evolving society and job market. The project is part of the federally funded Future Skills Centre. Carleton is joined by five higher education institutions in the network: Simon Fraser University (BC), University of Calgary (AB), University of Saskatchewan (SK), Concordia University (QC), and Memorial University (NL).
FUSION has developed a curriculum that consists of a 10-hour online integrated learning experience designed to enhance student skills in three areas critical to 21st century success and leadership: metacognition, communication and problem-solving. The program is currently open to students with a Fall 2020 Co-op placement, those in Act to Employ, and all students registered in the Fall 2020 I-CUREUS and SaPP programs.
