Who We Are

Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) strives to create an institutional culture that values, rewards and sustains engagement, innovation and excellence in teaching and learning. Our office promotes outcomes-oriented, experiential learning and high-impact teaching practices that foster deep, lifelong learning and student success.

Our Mission

TLS supports Carleton University’s faculty members, contract instructors, teaching assistants and educational support staff in all facets of teaching and learning as we aim to empower students to succeed in the classroom and beyond. We promote thoughtful and considered approaches to teaching and learning, encouraging meaningful partnerships between instructors and students where knowledge creation is a shared responsibility.

Teaching Support and Development

Key services: Experiential and immersive learning, educational technology enhanced teaching and learning, course design, assessment design and analysis, media production, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, award and grant application support

Key services: I-CUREUS, Students as Partners Program, FUSION Skill Development Program (will add GCSP when ready)
