Carleton University is proud to provide a comprehensive benefits program for its employees.

An important part of managing this program is the annual renewal of contracts with our insurers. At this time we review how the plans have been used and negotiate the best rates possible for the coming year. We have completed our analysis and discussions with Canada Life for the 2021/22 benefit year, which runs from May 1, 2021 to April 31, 2022.

Premium rates for benefits will be adjusted as follows effective May 1, 2021:

Optional Life No change
Long Term Disability (LTD) – Staff No Change
Long Term Disability (LTD) – CUASA Partial Subsidy in effect resulting in no change to rate
Health Care Decrease of 3%
Dental Care Decrease of 3%
Life Insurance Increase of 13%

The actual amount that you and the University pay for your benefits coverage is available on your pay stub which is accessible through Carleton Central at http://central.carleton.ca.
