Carleton is proud to be named one of the National Capital Region’s Top Employers for the eighth consecutive year as chosen by the editors at Canada’s Top 100 Employers.

In the announcement made on Feb. 1, 2022 the judges specifically highlighted Carleton for a number of its unique initiatives, including:

  • Carleton University manages an extensive healthy workplace initiative, supported by a dedicated healthy workplace officer, a cross-functional committee, and a network of over 90 Healthy Workplace Champions that act as department ambassadors.
  • As part of moving employees to work-from-home arrangements during the pandemic, Carleton University ensured that employees could ask for technical support and ergonomic assessments of home offices along with ensuring employees took needed equipment for a proper setup.
  • Carleton University supports employees through various stages of life, from maternity leave top-up payments for mothers-to-be, to flexible work options to help balance personal and family commitments, to phased-in work options for those in the later stages of their careers.

Published annually since 2006, the National Capital Region’s Top Employers is an editorial competition that recognizes employers in the Ottawa-Gatineau area that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Employers throughout the province were evaluated by the editors at Canada’s Top 100 Employers using the same criteria as the national competition. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
