Appreciation Week 2024

Each June, faculty and staff come together as a community to celebrate each other through an appreciation event. As part of our celebration, we have planned a week of activities starting on Monday, June 24 until Friday, June 28. It’s a time to reconnect with friends and colleagues, not only in your own department or unit, but also from across campus.

Appreciation Week is also an opportunity for managers and directors to thank members of their teams for all they do for the Carleton community. Send a Service Excellence Thank You.

Appreciation Week Activities

Appreciation Week is just around the corner, please check out the event calendar below.

Lunch Hour Activities

Every lunch hour, noon to 1 p.m., we will have lawn games and treats in Oxbow Park. Bring your lunch and your coworkers and come out for some fun in the sun!

We will have crafts in Oxbow Park on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (Rain location for crafts is the Senate Room 608 Pigiarvik).

Ravens’ Field: 3 mini soccer fields (3 concurrent soccer games/6 teams)

Norm Fenn Gym: Volleyball (2 concurrent volleyball games/4 teams)

Ravens’ Nest: 6 basketball courts (6 concurrent 3-on-3 basketball games/12 teams)

*In order to participate in the athletics activities please complete the following waiver form.

*Submission of your waiver form for the Athletics Day requires a CUNET account. If you do not have a CUNET account, waiver forms will be available at each location for you to complete.

Food Donations

The Unified Support Centre (USC) is a volunteer-supported CUSA department. The Food Centre service is offered by USC, providing on-campus food support and advocacy.

During Appreciation Week we will also be giving back to our community through supporting the USC. We will have drop-off locations across campus (Ice House, Nideyinàn Galleria, Campus Safety – Pigiarvik, MacOdrum Library Welcome Desk) where all who can, are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items and personal and feminine hygiene products. Thank you to all who donated!

Prizes

To encourage participation this year, each event you attend will give you a chance to enter the wrap-up draws at the end of the week. Don’t forget to fill out your ballot to win one of these amazing prizes!
