In October, Tracy Hodgson-Drysdale travelled to Providence, RI to give a 90 minute invited talk titled “Making Meaning in Disciplinary Writing: Language Beyond Vocabulary” with colleagues Maria Estela Brisk and Holly Rosa at the WIDA Annual Conference. The theme of the conference was Teaching for Equity in a Multicultural World. She also planned and facilitated a three-hour teacher workshop with Holly Rosa. The title was “Synergy in Science and Language Instruction through Disciplinary Practices” and it featured sixteen live fiddler crabs for participants to observe as part of the interactive learning experience!
