SLaLS is pleased to welcome two new faculty members to our Linguistics team: Karen Jesney and Tamara Sorenson Duncan.

Karen JesneyKaren received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2011 and has been teaching at Carleton since 2017. Her research focuses on the way in which children learn the phonological system of their first language. She is particularly interested in how children’s learning process can shed light on the representation of adult linguistic knowledge.
