During a recent trip to France, Spanish instructor Janett Martinez-Amador met with Mª Teresa de Santos Borreguero, chair of Spanish program at the Cervantes Institute in Paris to share experiences of teaching Spanish in postsecondary settings. Topics discussed included: language testing, how best to introduce the cultural component in language teaching, characteristics of the DELE exam as an internationally-recognized assessment tool for proficiency in Spanish as a foreign language, and intensive Spanish course teaching (attendance policy, development of all language skills, and student motivation) .
Janett is currently on sabbatical and will return to teaching in July 2020.
