Roland Lecomte has passed away at age 86. Roland joined the Carleton School of Social Work in 1974 and was a mainstay of the School until he left in 1988 to found the School of Social Work at the University of Ottawa. He was director of the School from 1980 to 1988. He brought knowledge, patience, skill and above all generosity and commitment to the School, to the faculty, staff and students with whom he interacted over the 15 years he spent at Carleton University. He also brought a commitment to the advancement of the field of social work in both French and English in Quebec, Franco Ontario and English Canada.
