On February 24th the Discovery Centre hosted Carleton’s 4th annual Community Engagement event. This year’s theme was Making Connections, which, thanks to all the attendees, was a successful networking event!

The morning was broken into three interactive sections, starting with a panel discussion titled “Community Culture Shock” on the power, joys and tribulations of community-campus partnerships featuring Marc-Andre Clement of “Culture Shock Canada” and students from CCDP3003 (Communication Skills for Multimedia Design Students), moderated by Lisa Meyer (School of Linguistics and Language Studies). This was followed by speed-presentations of 27 students involved in community-based projects.

After a break, which allowed participants to re-fuel and start to make connections, a Community-Campus Networking event took place presenting 18 faculty and community partners who were willing to share their successes and experiences through a number of sessions.

Thank you to all who attended. The event was only successful because you were here to network!!
