The Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) and the Office of the Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) are pleased to announce the seven outstanding educators who have been named 2016 Carleton University Teaching Award winners.

David Dean and Shawn Graham, both from the Department of History, have received the Provost’s Fellowship in Teaching Award for their leadership and commitment to teaching and learning. They have also been designated as Carleton University teaching fellows and will receive $2,500 each.

Michael Hildebrand (Department of Neuroscience), Erik Stephenson (College of the Humanities), and Rodney Nelson (Centre for Initiatives in Education) have been awarded this year’s New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award, each receiving $500.

Shannon Butler (Sprott School of Business) is this year’s recipient of the Excellence in Teaching with Technology Award for her innovative use of technology in the classroom. She will be awarded $750.

The Excellence in Learning Support Award goes to Claudia Buttera (Department of Biology) for her outstanding contribution to the student learning experience. She will receive $750.
