On Thursday, Dec. 8, join keynote speaker Dr. Joy Mighty, Associate Vice-President (Teaching & Learning), for a teaching colloquium and poster session.

Dr. Mighty’s presentation will reflect on the context in which universities exist in the 21st century and identify some of the pressures for change that currently face them. These include the changing demographics among students, the demands by various stakeholders for increased access, quality and accountability, and the rapidly changing technological environment. How are these challenges affecting what and how students learn? What changes have occurred since we last took stock and what exemplary practices are still emerging?

It will also explore some of the social, cultural and political waves that are shifting pedagogy and transforming the teaching and learning landscape in higher education.

Dr. Mighty’s keynote presentation will run from 12-1:30 p.m., followed by a student poster session from 1:30-2:25 p.m. in room 252 MacOdrum Library.

No registration is required.
