The Educational Development Centre will remain open during the strike, though some services may be reduced. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Events

Workshops and events at the EDC may be postponed for the duration of the strike. Please check the EDC events page for updates. If you have registered for a workshop or training session, you will be notified in the event of a cancellation.

Scantron

The EDC has acquired a supply of Scantron sheets and instructors are welcome to stop by 410 Dunton Tower to pick up these sheets for their midterm tests.

Processing of Scantron exams will continue during the strike, but processing times may take longer than normal. If you have small batches of exams, you may want to consider marking them manually. Scantron request forms can be completed and exams dropped off at the EDC (4th floor Dunton tower) during regular business hours – Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please direct inquiries to edc@carleton.ca or phone extension 4433.

Educational technologies

Core informational technology services which support the teaching and learning enterprise of the university will be operational and supported in the event of a labour disruption. These systems and tools include email, Internet (wired and wireless) as well as enterprise educational technologies like cuLearn, cuPortfolio, BigBlueButton, Camtasia/Capture, Poll Everywhere, and Kaltura. The support for instructors using these enterprise educational technologies remains with the EDC. Please direct all inquiries to edtech@carleton.ca or phone extension 4433. Responses may be somewhat delayed as we will need to prioritize support requests.

We encourage you to consult the cuLearn help pages for assistance:
