As a university with recognized strengths in AI research and teaching innovation, Carleton is well-positioned to lead on this issue. This framework provides guidance on the use of AI at Carleton, ensuring that academics, staff and students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to use AI critically, effectively, responsibly and ethically.
We invite you to explore the framework and its guiding principles. The framework builds on the university’s earlier work on AI guidelines, drawing from a variety of additional resources and incorporating the feedback that was collected from the Carleton community.
AI is a rapidly evolving field, and so this framework is a living document. As the university gains experience with AI, the implementation guidance will be routinely reviewed and updated.
