Sangeeta Murugkar
Sangeeta Murugkar has been teaching in the Department of Physics at Carleton University since 2013. During her first two years at Carleton, Sangeeta revamped the experiments in her two fourth-year laboratory courses to include novel instrumentation technology.
Additionally, in her first- and second-year physics courses, Sangeeta developed hands-on applications and innovative visual tools to enable a basic understanding of the material covered in class.
She is a dynamic new faculty member, an enthusiastic undergraduate supervisor and an engaged, caring mentor to her students. Sangeeta’s talent for conveying multifaceted concepts to students in an engaging and thoughtful way helped her earn a 2017 New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award.
