Call for Committee Nominations – Students

The Carleton University Senate is calling for nominations for undergraduate and graduate students to serve on a variety of Senate Standing Committees:

Students selected and confirmed will serve a one-year term for the period of July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The deadline for applications is March 28, 2025. Once the deadline for nominations has passed, positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, provided candidates meet the eligibility requirements.

Eligibility

Students may serve on Senate committees without having been previously elected to a governance position. To be eligible, all students must be in good academic standing, and undergraduate students must have completed at least 4.0 credits prior to service.

Timeline

March 3, 2025:Call for Senate Committees open
March 28, 2025:Deadline for Senate Committees Nominations (4pm)
April 7, 2025:Nominations reviewed by Senate Academic Governance Committee to provide recommendations for Senate approval
April 25, 2025:Confirmation of committee nominations at Senate meeting
April 28, 2025:Announcement of elected Faculty, students and committee members
