Call for Committee Nominations – Students
The Carleton University Senate is calling for nominations for undergraduate and graduate students to serve on a variety of Senate Standing Committees:
- Senate Executive Committee – students serving on this committee must be on Senate for the 2026-27 academic year
- 1 GR student
- 1 UG student
- Senate Quality Assurance and Planning Committee (meets every other Thursday morning)
- 1 GR student
- 1 UG student
- Senate Committee on Curriculum, Admission, and Studies Policy (meets every other Tuesday morning)
- 1 GR student
- 1 UG student
- Senate Academic Governance Committee – meets in person
- 1 GR student
- 1 UG student
- Senate Committee on Student Awards
- 1 GR student
- 1 UG student
- Senate Honorary Degrees Committee
- 1 GR student
- 1 UG student
- Senate Student Academic Integrity Appeals Committee
- 1 GR student
- 1 UG student
- Senate Graduate Student Appeal Committee
- 1 GR student
- Senate Review Committee
- 2 GR students
- 2 UG students
Students selected and confirmed will serve a one-year term for the period of July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. The deadline for applications is April 3, 2026. Once the deadline for nominations has passed, positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, provided candidates meet the eligibility requirements.
Eligibility
Students may serve on Senate committees without having been previously elected to a governance position. To be eligible, all students must be in good academic standing, and undergraduate students must have completed at least 4.0 credits prior to service.

| April 7, 2025: | Nominations reviewed by Senate Academic Governance Committee to provide recommendations for Senate approval |
| April 25, 2025: | Confirmation of committee nominations at Senate meeting |
| April 28, 2025: | Announcement of elected Faculty, students and committee members |
