Capital Pride started off as just a parade in 1986. It has now evolved to a 7-9 day celebration, acknowledging the progress made for the 2SLGBTQ+ community and calling for us to keep progressing and to keep working on true equity and inclusivity. Capital Pride’s mission is to create opportunities to celebrate, advocate, educate and connect people, respecting the full diversity of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
This year, Carleton University is once again participating in Capital Pride! We are marching to show our support and commitment to making the campus a safer and more inclusive space. The reason Carleton marches is more than just for celebration, It is to make an impact, to show up and to call for progress to be made.
