Yoko Azuma Prikryl, Japanese Language Instructor, and her two students from our Japanese Language program who participated in the 20th National Japanese Speech Contest held at the Embassy of Japan on March 29, 2009.

Yahor Kazlou, a JAPA 4200 student, won first prize in the advanced category, which included a ticket to Japan.

Jaime Graham, registered in JAPA 2200, won third prize in the intermediate category.

All contestants who participated in this National Contest were the winners of regional contests across Canada. All the judges commented that the level this year was very high. We are very proud of the success of our students.

Many students from Carleton University participated in the regional contest.
