Parabéns (“congratulations” in Portuguese) to the 3 Carleton students who shared in this year’s CPLP Book Prize of Excellence. Awarded annually, the book prize acknowledges the academic merit, interest and proficiency of high-achieving students of Portuguese.
This year’s winners from Carleton were:

- Joshua Pelland
They, and other winners from Ottawa U, and Université du Québec en Outaouais, received their awards from the Ambassadors of Angola, Brazil, and Portugal during opening night ceremonies of the Portuguese Film Festival, May 5th at Library and Archives Canada.
The CPLP Book Prize is co-sponsored by the Embassies of Angola, Brazil, Mozambique and Portugal, as well as Camões, I.P. and Museu da Língua Portuguesa.
CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Speaking Countries) is a UNESCO-recognized intergovernmental organization for friendship among lusophone (Portuguese-speaking) nations, in which Portuguese is an official language.
