The research team of Kahente Horn-Miller (Indigenous Studies), Fraser Taylor (Geography and Environmental Studies) and Rebekah Ingram (SLaLS), have been awarded a SSHRC Insight Grant for Preserving and Growing Kanyenkehaka Spatial Linguistic Capacity through the Atlas of Haudenosaunee Space, based upon Rebekah’s dissertation work on Kanyen’keha (Mohawk) place names. This project will help to revitalize landscape terminology and cultural terminology based on the Indigenous Knowledge of Haudenosaunee place names.
