On Tuesday, May 7, Professor Mako Hirotani will share her experiences with accessibility and barriers in the modern classroom. The event, “Accessibility Spotlight: Strategies for Reducing Classroom Barriers for Student with Disabilities,” will be hosted by TLS from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in room 481 of the MacOdrum Library (the Future Learning Lab) and online.

In this workshop, Associate Professor Mako Hirotani, a leading expert in Psycholinguistics, will present illuminating the expectations of students, particularly those with disabilities, shedding light on the barriers they face in the modern classroom. Mako’s presentation will help you better understand how you can reshape traditional course design and teaching approaches to reduce the need for accommodations and enhance accessibility for every student.
