More than hockey and poutine, last Sunday, while the enchanting smells of the Indian Food Festival filled a Nepean park, the Greek Festival danced the Hasapiko just across the canal from Carleton, and the Capital Pride Parade snaked through the streets of downtown, a small group of visiting Japanese students were here in the Language Learning Resource Centre, talking about Canadian multiculturalism with students from Carleton Japanese classes.

The group, in town as part of a two week cultural tour of Canada, had been studying Canadian multiculturalism and was excited to share what they had learned with real live Canadian students.  They were also excited to learn more about cultural similarities and differences in the small group discussions that followed their presentations.

The group, from Kyoto’s Ritsumeikan University, left Ottawa on Monday for stops in Toronto and Niagara Falls before returning to Japan on Friday.
