Current Program: PhD in ALDS
I am interested in maintaining and eventually documenting our Philippine heritage language, called Yogad. Working with brilliant professors like Marie-Odile Junker, Jaffer Sheyholislami, Janna Fox, and Natasha Artemeva has helped inform and enrich my research. Carleton provides the supportive and creative environment needed by indigenous researchers like me, so much so that after finishing my MA here, I decided to keep pursuing a PhD. The university reminds me that there is a place for indigenous studies in the academe, and that one day, we will have an even bigger space for indigenous frameworks, methodologies, and theories.
Area(s) of Interest:
- Heritage Language Maintenance
- Indigenous Research
