Third year BSW student, Dahlia Belfer, has published an article in the Ottawa Citizen addressing the inequities experienced by the elderly population, especially “the disconnect between provincial and federal social supports when it comes to the dignity of older adults.”

The removal of support structures impacts more than immediate mental health; it can also be harmful to the physical health of older adults in the long term. Untreated or inadequately managed health conditions may increase infections, discomfort and other comorbidities.”
