Genevieve worked in the private sector for an international management consulting firm for 12 years. She has lived in South Africa, Canada, the USA, several countries in Europe, and has travelled the world extensively. During her undergrad in Belgium, she worked at a community centre for expats and volunteered for their 24hr crisis line. After her Masters, Genevieve switched to the public service where she then worked in 3 levels of government over the next 10 years. She quit in 2019 to start the PhD program so that she could be a stronger advocate for her autistic children’s rights. Her research interests include barriers to education equity for autistic children and gaps in post-adoption policy.
