Mark your calendars on Dec. 4 for OpenCon 2015 Ottawa.
OpenCon is a conference on open access, open education and open data. Carleton is hosting a satellite event on Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Discovery Centre Multi-Media Lab (482 MacOdrum Library) to bring the conference to you!
Join us for engaging Ottawa and Ontario focused sessions at this satellite event. Each session will feature a rebroadcast and discussion of a presentation from the main OpenCon meeting, followed by the Ottawa/Ontario based presentations.
The agenda for the day is as follows:
- 9 – 10:15 AM: Shawn Graham, associate professor at Carleton University and co-author of the recently published book Exploring Big Historical Data: The Historian’s Macroscope, will be speaking about Open Data
- 10:30 AM – 12:15 PM: Alison Flynn, associate professor at the University of Ottawa and eCampusOntario board member, will be speaking about Open Educational Resources
- 12:15 – 1 PM: Lunch
- 1 – 2:30 PM: A panel discussion about how open access affects research and publishing
