Motivation, Teaching, and Learning

You have meticulously crafted your course content and activities and employed effective teaching methods. However, it seems that your instructional strategies haven’t quite captured the interest and enthusiasm of your students. They appear to lack motivation in your class.
Perhaps you’ve found yourself pondering some of the following questions:
Can I genuinely influence student motivation in a meaningful way?
What are the key factors that impact student motivation?
Are there specific tactics I can employ to ignite motivation in my students?
What actions can I take when my own motivation is running low?
In this session, Maristela Petrovic-Dzerdz will aim to address these questions while introducing two prominent psychological models: the ARCS-V Motivational Model, developed by John M. Keller, and the Flow Theory, proposed by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. We will explore how both these models can provide valuable insights to understand the current state and enhance the motivation of our students.
Furthermore, we will actively engage with participants by encouraging them to share their experiences and ideas. This collaborative exchange will generate innovative approaches to invigorate both students and instructors, thereby enhancing the overall teaching and learning experiences.
Please register below; the space is limited.
