What is the difference between a workplace injury and incident?

In a workplace incident, no injury or illness occurs. An incident is defined as an event that could have resulted in an illness or injury if a slightly different set of circumstances had transpired. Examples of this can include: fires, explosions, spills, etc. Incidents like workplace injuries still need to be reported to the workplace supervisor.
