To enroll or change benefits information, fill in a Group Coverage Change Form and submit it to Benefits Services in Human Resources.
Upon hire or loss of benefits coverage from another provider, you have 31 days to enroll in the Carleton plans. Late enrollment for any other reason will require that you provide evidence of insurability and will limit your dental benefits to $250 per person for the first year.

Typically, we will ask you as a new employee to wait approximately 3 weeks in order to receive your Canada Life pay direct wallet drug card before submitting any claims. This will ensure that you are set up on the Canada Life system and that your claims will be processed smoothly.

Temporary Residents - Work Permit
- Study Permit
- A study permit that indicates that the permit holder “may accept employment’ or “may work” in Canada OR a study permit and a “confirmation to work of campus” letter. If neither of these requirements are met, contact CIC to verify your eligibility to apply for an amended study permit

If you are not a graduate student, you are eligible for a card 6 weeks before your contract starts. Make sure that you have done the following:

- Accepted your contract
