Call for Contract Instructor Representatives to serve on Senate

The Carleton University Senate is calling for nominations to fill one vacancy for a Contract Instructor to serve on Senate.

The position is open to Contract Instructors at Carleton University who satisfy the following eligibility requirements:

Note that retired academic staff and professional librarians who are/were teaching under contract are not eligible for these positions.

The term of service is three years beginning October 1, 2026, and will expire on September 30, 2029. Note that to maintain their position on Senate, Contract Instructors must continue to teach at least 0.5 credits in each academic year of service.

Carleton University Senate is the highest academic authority of the university, responsible for decisions of significant importance to students and faculty. Regular work of Senate includes approving new programs and revised curricula, establishing regulations concerning students’ academic work, and awarding degrees and scholarships.

Please note that nominations will officially close at 4:00 pm on Friday August 28. Elections will be held online the week of September 8th and results will be communicated the same week.
