Congratulations to the 45 faculty members and contract instructors who graduated from the EDC’s Certificate in University Teaching and Certificate in Fundamentals of University Teaching programs on Thursday, Nov. 15.
The graduation ceremony was held in conjunction with a reception welcoming Carleton’s new Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning), Dr. Joy Mighty.
The Certificate in University Teaching program is a great professional development opportunity, allowing Carleton’s faculty members and contract instructors to develop their teaching skills and explore new approaches to instruction.
Participants have the opportunity to develop a framework to design lectures, develop effective assessment strategies and identify ways to enhance student engagement in their classes. They also receive feedback from course facilitators and benefit from in-depth conversations with fellow colleagues.
Registration for the Winter 2013 cohort is now open. The 12-week program runs Tuesdays from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., starting January 15 and ending April 9.
