Kick off the fall term with the Teaching and Learning Services Forum on August 27 in the River Building Atrium.
Discover Teaching and Learning Services’ (TLS) initiatives and learn from Carleton community leaders in a “cracker barrel” session (Don’t know what a cracker barrel session is? See below.). Some confirmed presenters include: Adrian Chan (Systems and Computer Engineering), Kevin Cheung (Math), Janna Fox (SLaLS), Shawn Graham (History), Kanina Holmes (Journalism) and Tim Pychyl (Psychology).
TLS, led by the Office of the Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning), is the umbrella unit for Carleton University Online, the Educational Development Centre and Instructional Media Services.
Tentative Schedule
- 10 – 10:45 a.m.: Dr. Joy Mighty, Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning), introduces Teaching and Learning Services and highlights its initiatives supporting the Carleton teaching and learning community.
- 10:45 – 11 a.m.: Break
- 11 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.: Cracker barrel session
- 12:20 – 1:20 p.m.: Lunch (provided), networking and closing

*A cracker barrel session features different presenters seated at a series of roundtables. Attendees choose which tables to visit and circulate from table to table at 20-minute intervals. In an 80-minute session, attendees will visit four different tables and the presenters will have presented/discussed the same topic four times.
