Teaching evaluations can often be a sensitive topic for professors. While some students provide informative, constructive or positive feedback, others will inevitably offer criticism that can be quite harsh.
With the rise of social media and websites like ratemyprofessors.com, informal feedback is now widely available for everyone to see. Students can be very quick to share their comments, sometimes focusing less on the teaching and learning elements and more on topics like the professor’s style or how cute their pets are.
