Most student assignments end up in the trash after they’re graded. Although the students learned things in doing the assignments, wouldn’t it be great if they had more uses?
On August 21 from 10-11:30 a.m., join the EDC and cognitive science professor Jim Davies for a discussion about non-disposable assignments. Prof. Davies will report on his classroom experimentation with his teaching philosophy, “Don’t Waste Student Work,” and will explore the kinds of assignments that can help students after the course is over, future students, the scholarly community, or even the world at large.
