Teaching and Learning Services and the Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) are pleased to announce the outstanding educators who have been named 2019 Carleton University Teaching Award winners.

John Stead (Department of Neuroscience), Anne Trépanier (School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies) and Winnie Ye (Department of Electronics) have received the Provost’s Fellowship in Teaching Award for their leadership and commitment to teaching and learning. They have also been designated as Carleton University teaching fellows.

Achim Hurrelmann (Department of Political Science & Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies) and Danielle Kinsey (Department of History) were also honoured with the Excellence in Blended and Online Teaching Award for their exceptional impact on student learning in blended and online environments.

There were so many strong applications for the New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award that the selection committee added an extra winner this year, for a total of four recipients: Sonia Gulati (Department of Health Sciences), Rishad Irani (Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering), Omair Shafiq (School of Information Technology) and Ai Taniguchi (School of Linguistics and Language Studies).

The Excellence in Learning Support Award goes to Fiona Wright (Student and Public Programs Coordinator – Carleton University Art Gallery) for her outstanding contribution to the student learning experience.

Please join us in congratulating this year’s winners!
